🌺 Why Do We Celebrate Navratri? – The Story of Goddess Durga

The Story of Goddess Durga Long ago, there lived a powerful demon named Mahishasura who troubled the gods and spread fear across the three worlds. To defeat him, the gods combined their divine powers to create Goddess Durga, the embodiment of strength and courage. Goddess Durga fought Mahishasura for nine days and nights. On the tenth day, she defeated him and restored peace, marking the victory of good over evil. This victory is celebrated as Vijayadashami or Dussehra. During the nine days of Navratri, devotees worship the nine forms of Goddess Durga, known as Navdurga. Each form represents a different divine quality, inspiring devotees with courage, wisdom, strength, peace and devotion.
