Kamdhenu Lakshmi Bhasma made of  is the sacred ash from the dhuni or fire where cow dung, goumutra, ghee, herbs, grains, vedic samidha and other auspicious and purifying items are offered for worship along with mantras. In Sanskrit, bhoothi means Aishwaryam, meaning wealth, treasure, precious. Vi-bhoothi means very or more valuable. 

Hindu devotees apply bhasma traditionally as three horizontal line across the forehead and other parts of the body to honor Shiva. Bhasma smeared across the forehead to the end of both eyebrows is called tripundra.

According to our mythologies, there is a belief that among the parts of Kamdhenu Mata, all of our 33 million deities are worshiped gods and all 14 mythical worlds exist.

A person who smears Vibhuthi purifies himself from sins and also removes the sins of persons who looks at him besmeared. Bhasma is the sacred ash used in religious worship. The main ingredient of ash is a special kind of wood and cow dung. It is burned in a sacred fire (Homa) to form white ash.

Normally, worn along with red tilaka. Vibhuti relates to Shiva and red tilaka to Shakti. Reminds that Shiva and Shakti form the universe and everything is though the union of Shiva and Shakti.
