Deity throne with fine hand carving on wood. Deity idols are installed on thrones as a sign of respect and praise.
The bottom part has an openable container which can hold incense sticks, kumkum and other puja items
Rich traditional Kashmiri carving by Indian craftsmen. The tradition of placing deity idols and sacred objects on the throne signifies our gratitude for the blessings the deity has bestowed on us. When a deity idol is placed on the throne, the devotees sit at the lower level on the ground, preferably on a Kusha Mat, thus ready to receive blessings.
