Among the pantheon of supreme devotees of God, one name sparkles and that is of Prahlada. Born into a demon’s family, he had all the saintly attributes which are extensively described in the puranas. A treatise in the Srimada Bhagavata is attributed to him in which he describes the process of loving worship of God. Speaking on Day 43 of the Hara Katha series, spiritual leader Morari Bapu picked the subject of Prahlada and the various challenges that he faced. Bapu quoted the Ram Charita Manas, in which Prahlada is referred to as ‘Bhakta Siromani’ (supreme devotee). “Naamu Japat Prabhu Kinhaa Prasadu, Bhagata Siromani Bhaye Prahladu.” (Bal Kaand 26.2). Bapu, who is a great exponent of the Ramayana, explained that there are two or three main protagonists who are referred to as ‘Bhakta Siromani’ in the epic. Lord Vishnu’s vehicle Garuda are considered great devotees.
