Where there is Ganesha there is mushak. So you can place golden mushak near your Ganesha idol.

Ganpati Durva:- There are many interesting stories related to why durva is offered to lord Ganpati. According to Ganesh Puran, once all Gods were invited by Lord Kuber for dinner at his palace. From Shiva’s family Ganesha went for dinner. Kuber is the lord of wealth; he was very proud & arrogant. To break his egoism Ganesha decided to teach him a lesson. The dinner begins Ganpati was served with various delicious foods items. He was please with the food & one by one he finishes all food items. At last there was no food remain in palace Ganesha was still hungry. Now the God of wealth Kuber was embarrassed that he cannot satisfy the hunger of little Ganesha. He rush towards Shiva and requested him how he can satisfy the Ganesha’s hunger. The mother of Ganesha, Parvati gave him a plate of modak and asks him to serve this to Ganpati. After eating a single modak Ganesha was satisfied. Kuber was very embarrassed & he begs Ganesha to forgive him. After eating the huge quantity of food there was a burning sensation in his stomach. Parvati gave him a 21 stack of durva to eat & Ganesha was relieved from the burning sensation. From that time durva appeases lord Ganesha. In Ganesh pujan durva is must.

Ganpati Modak:- Modak is a special sweet offered to Ganesha. It is believed that any offering to Ganpati is incomplete without modak. Modaks are made from rice flour filled with grated coconut & jiggery. It is said that once all Gods came to meet Load Shiva & Goddess Parvati and presented them a divine modak. One who ate the modaks will gain an infinite knowledge in literature, science, arts etc. Parvati wanted to offer these modak to both sons. But Ganesha & Kartike was not at all ready to share it. Parvati was rattled & she said the one who will prove the true meaning of devotion & shows the intelligence will get the modak. Lord Kartik immediately moves up on to his vahana peacock & rushed to various spiritual places. But the Lord of wisdom Ganesha went around his Parents Lord Shiva & Parvati and said no quantity of any offering, fasting or visiting various spiritual places is equal to devotion & love of parents. Shiva & Parvati was fully impressed & presented him a divine modaks.

Hibiscus Flower:- It is believed flowers have a special importance in any puja & if you worship the God by offering his/her favorite flower then all your wishes come true. Red hibiscus flower is personally Ganesha’s favorite flower. The five petal of this flower signifies, destroying the negative energy & welcoming the new positive energy from the universe.

Ganpati Mukut(crown):- Ganesha’s huge mukut defines the big & unique thinking. He is a God of wisdom & the remover of all obstacles. Mukut enhances the beauty of Ganesha idol. So this festive Ganesh season adorn your Ganesh with beautiful Golden crown.

Ganpati Sond(Trunk):- In Ganpati shlok first word ‘vakratunda’ says us that he is God with twisted trunk. He can easily hold anything in his trunk & can eat sweet from his left-hand by turning his trunk.

Trishul:- Creator of the universe the lord Shiva holds the trishul as his weapon. He used it to cut the original head of Ganpati, and when Ganesha was blessed with new life he holds trishul in one of his weapons.

Ganpati Paan & Supari:- It is believed that supari (betel nut) represents Ganpati & it is kept on ‘naagli’ paan. Before starting the puja supari is worshipped as Ganesha. So it has a special importance in Ganesh puja.
