Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's mode of worshipping Krishna with bhajan-kirtan and dance had a profound effect on Vaishnavism in Bengal. People, irrespective of their caste, flocked to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's 'Kirtan Mandali'. He popularised the message of 'Krishna bhakti' across different cities, without any distinctions of caste, colour, or creed. These activities furthered integration and brotherhood among the people.

Chaitanya introduced the mass of people in the Sankhya philosophy of “Achintya bhedabheda” which maintain that the supreme God is simultaneously one with and different from his creation. He taught that the holy name of the God is the sound incarnation of God.
