Khatu Shyam Ji is a revered temple dedicated to Barbarika, who is worshipped as Khatu Shyam Ji in Rajasthan, India. The temple is located in the town of Khatu, in the Sikar district of Rajasthan. According to Hindu mythology, Barbarika was the grandson of Bhima (one of the Pandavas) and the son of Ghatotkacha. He was a great warrior blessed with three infallible arrows, earning him the name "Teen Baan Dhaari." Before the Mahabharata war, Barbarika vowed to support the weaker side, but Lord Krishna, recognizing his power, tested him and eventually asked for his head as a sacrifice. Barbarika, in devotion, agreed. Pleased with his sacrifice, Krishna blessed him, saying he would be worshipped as Shyam, a name associated with Krishna himself, and that his devotees' wishes would be fulfilled.
