The planets are very powerful in nature and we all are under their influence. If these planets are weak or imbalanced they can make life miserable.  In order to strengthen weak planets havan is performed. These Shani sticks are offered during fire ceremony (Havan), to pacify the ill effects of Shani or to strengthen the good effect of the planet.

Shani is one of the nine primary celestial beings in Hindu astrology (that is, Vedic astrology). Shani is embodied in the planet Saturn.  Shani is the Lord of Saturday. The origin of word Shani comes from the following: Shanaye Kramati Sa i.e. the one who moves slowly. Saturn takes about 30 years to revolve around the Sun, thus it moves slowly compared to other planets, thus the Sanskrit name. Shani is actually a demi-god and is a son of Surya (the Hindu Sun God) and Surya's wife Chhaya. It is said that when he opened his eyes as a baby for the very first time, the Sun went into an eclipse, which clearly denotes the impact of Shani on astrological charts (horoscope). He is depicted dark in colour, clothed in black; holding a sword, arrows and two daggers and variously mounted on a black crow or a raven.

His Tattva or element is air, and his direction is west.  He is Tamas in nature and represents learning the hard way, Career and Longevity.

Shani sticks are specifically used during Havan ceremonies to pacify the negative effects of the planet Shani, or Saturn, in Vedic astrology. By offering these sticks in the fire, practitioners aim to strengthen the positive influences of Shani, which can lead to improved life circumstances. This ritual is believed to help balance the energies associated with this powerful celestial body.

In Hindu astrology, Shani represents the planet Saturn and is considered one of the nine primary celestial beings. Known as the Lord of Saturday, Shani is associated with discipline, responsibility, and karma. His influence can be both challenging and beneficial, making it essential to perform rituals like Havan with Shani sticks to mitigate any adverse effects.

To use Shani sticks effectively, place them in the Havan fire during your ritual, ensuring they are offered with intention and respect. It is recommended to chant specific mantras related to Shani while performing the Havan to enhance the effectiveness of the ritual. This combination of offerings and prayers is believed to create a powerful spiritual atmosphere conducive to positive outcomes.

Each package of Shani sticks contains approximately 12 sticks, which is typically sufficient for multiple Havan ceremonies. Depending on the length and nature of your ritual, you may choose to use one or more sticks at a time. This quantity allows for flexibility in your spiritual practices, ensuring you have enough for significant occasions or personal rituals.

While Shani sticks are primarily designed for use in Havan ceremonies, they can also be used in personal meditation or prayer sessions to invoke the energies of Shani. Burning these sticks in a safe space can help create a calming atmosphere conducive to reflection and spiritual growth. However, their main purpose remains tied to the rituals designed to honor and appease the planet Shani.
