The Chhatra is cordoned amongst the symbols that approach universality within the numerous octavalent suites or sets of Ashtamangala.

The traditional Chatar / Chattar is made in copper metal with gold finish and is decorated with artificial gemstones. The Mata ka Chatar is hung above Deity idols and images or is kept on Puja altars and wealth boxes as it is believed that it multiples wealth and prosperity.
