Placing a deity idol on a pedestal shows our respect towards the deity. Pedestals are also used during festivals, religious and marriage ceremonies. It is a tradition to install the deity idols or photos a few inches above the ground. An altar cloth can also be laid down on the pedestal before installing the deity.
